1. Agreement

5 BOROUGHS (the "Game") is a free, browser-based work of interactive political satire. By launching or playing the Game, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to them, please do not play.

2. The Game is fiction and satire

The Game is a work of fiction and political parody. Every event, quote, poll, scandal, debate, endorsement, statistic, and outcome in the Game is invented for satirical and entertainment purposes and is not a statement of fact.

All characters and events depicted — even those based on or resembling real people, parties, agencies, or organizations — are entirely fictional. Public figures appear only in their public, professional roles, as the subjects of commentary and parody on matters of public interest. Nothing in the Game should be read as a literal claim about any real person's conduct, statements, beliefs, or character.

3. No affiliation or endorsement

The Game is not affiliated with, authorized by, sponsored by, or endorsed by any candidate, elected official, political party, campaign, government body, news outlet, business, or other organization referenced or parodied within it.

No reference within the Game implies that any such person or entity supports the Game, its creators, or any candidate or position — real or fictional.

4. Maturity

The Game is intended for players aged 13 and older. It contains political satire, mature themes, and comedic depictions of public life. If you are under 13, please do not play.

5. Your account and conduct

Some features (such as ranked play and the leaderboard) require an account. You are responsible for activity under your account. Do not use the Game to break the law, harass others, or misrepresent the Game as factual reporting.

6. Intellectual property

The Game, including its code, text, art, characters, and design, is owned by Zir0 Matter Entertainment and its licensors. You may play the Game for personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the Game or its assets without permission.

7. Payments and donations

The Game is free to play. Optional donations are processed by Stripe under Stripe's own terms. Donations fund future development and, except where a specific perk is described at the time of payment, are not refundable.

8. No warranty

The Game is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or preserved forever.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zir0 Matter Entertainment and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Game. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, for most players, is nothing).

10. Changes

We may update these Terms as the Game evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above. Continued play after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
